What are Moringa Seeds?

Moringa Seeds are relatively large circular seeds that are highly sought after due to the fact that they are among the most nutritious organic products available. The Moringa seeds grow inside of large pods that grow from the Moringa Oleifera tree. The Moringa Oleifera is a rather small, slender tree but has deep roots and may grow up to 15 to 20 feet in length. The tree does not thrive in regions with frigid weather and the blooming period occurs during the summer months. The Moringa tree is however a fast grower and you can harvest the Moringa tree’s leaves every couple of months. Moringa seeds are produced annually and although the Moringa tree is small, it can produce hundred, or even thousands, of seed pods annually.

How to use Moringa Seeds?

Moringa seeds are edible fresh from the pods or after they have been allowed to dry out and harden. The seeds can also be used in a variety of ways; either as part of a dish or as medicine. The seeds may also be grinded into powder form and be used to make a paste or to even treat unclean water. Monringa seeds can also be boiled, even while still in the pod, and used in dishes much like regular beans. Roasted Moringa beans also make for a healthy snack.
The oil may also be extracted from the fresh seeds by first breaking them into smaller pieces then putting them through the process of cold-pressing.
